Why aligned lyrics beat auto-captions for music
The words are already correct
Transcription has to guess the words. Alignment is given the words and only has to place them, so spelling, names, slang, and stylised lyrics survive intact.
Repetition is handled by your text
A hook sung four times gets four timed passes as long as your text repeats it, instead of a transcriber collapsing or mishearing them.
Non-sung text stays out
Lines that look like section labels or stage directions are flagged and kept out of the timing, so you do not get a caption sitting over an instrumental break.
Practical tips for short-form video
Vertical video has little room, so break lyric lines short before you align — cue boundaries follow your line breaks. For fast, word-by-word effects, export LRC with word timestamps or JSON, which carry per-word times that a caption cue cannot express.
