Karaoke Lyrics Maker with Word Timing

Upload the song, paste the lyrics as they are sung, and LyricTimestamps returns a start and end time for every word. That word-level detail is what lets a karaoke display highlight the lyric as the singer moves through it, rather than jumping a whole line at a time.

Export the result as LRC, SRT, VTT, or JSON — word-timestamped LRC and JSON are the two most useful for sing-along playback.

Why word timing matters for karaoke

Line-timed lyrics tell a display when a line starts. Word-timed lyrics tell it how the line unfolds, which is what a sweeping highlight or a colour fill needs. Because alignment here is word-level from the start, both are available from a single job.

LRC carrying per-word timestamps
[00:12.480]<00:12.480>I <00:12.630>remember <00:13.120>every <00:13.410>word <00:13.760>you <00:14.020>said

Players with enhanced LRC support read the inline word times; players without it fall back to the line time at the start of each line, so the file stays usable either way.

Building a sing-along file

  1. Upload the vocal version of the track.
  2. Paste the lyrics exactly as performed, repeating every repeated line and including audible ad-libs.
  3. Tick LRC, and JSON if you want raw word data.
  4. Run the alignment and review the flagged lines.
  5. Play the preview with the words highlighting in time to check the feel, then download.

When you need it perfect

Karaoke is unforgiving about early or late highlights. The manual timing editor lets you move individual word boundaries and export from the corrected version, which is worth the few minutes on a song you will use repeatedly.

What it cannot do

It cannot time an instrumental, remove a vocal, generate a backing track, or invent lyrics. It also cannot untangle two different lead vocals singing different words at the same moment. Everything it does starts from an audible vocal and a correct lyric sheet.

Karaoke timing FAQ

Do I get word-by-word timing or just line timing?
Alignment produces a start and end time for every word, so you can drive word-by-word highlighting as well as line-by-line display.
Which file should I download for karaoke?
LRC with word timestamps suits players that support enhanced LRC, and JSON is the most flexible if you are building your own highlighting.
Can I use an instrumental backing track?
No. Alignment needs an audible vocal to match the words against. Time the vocal version, then use the resulting file over your instrumental.
How accurate is the word timing?
It is usually close enough to sing to on a clear vocal, and every word carries a confidence value so you can see where it is least certain. For millisecond precision, adjust words in the manual timing editor.
Does it handle two singers or harmonies?
Overlapping simultaneous vocals are the hardest case. A single lead line aligns well; dense stacked harmonies tend to produce lower confidence.
What else can I export?
Alongside karaoke-friendly output, each job exports LRC, SRT, VTT, and JSON.
